A WIP~Steter Drabble~Single father Stiles
Dec. 7th, 2018 09:56 pmThis is one of my favorite drabbles I've started, and do intend on finishing... someday. I've decided to let it see the light of day. Forgive me for any grammar mistakes and such. Enjoy...
Stiles’ POV~
“Please stop crying..Claudia... Please. “ Stiles pleaded to the crying baby girl in his arms. Claudia did the opposite, the screams and cries growing louder. Stiles wanted to start crying himself at this point… she’s been crying non-stop since earlier that evening. It was nearly one am. He was shaking from the frustration. Stiles walked over to the crib and set Claudia in it before he pulled his phone out of his back pocket. Stiles scrolled through his contact list, not knowing who he should call. He didn’t want to bother Scott or his Dad...He didn’t want to bother anyone, but he had to call someone, he could handle this on his own anymore. He was beginning to think he should have taken up his Dad’s offer to move back in with him.
Finally, he landed on Peter Hale’s number. Over the last few years, the pack had tried to integrate Peter into the pack to some degree, though most still didn’t trust him. Stiles was giving Peter a chance, and so far he hadn’t ruined it. He hesitated for a few moments before he hit the call button, putting the phone to his ear.
Stiles had no idea if Peter would answer. The older wolf could be busy, or just not want to answer his call. If Peter didn’t answer, he'd just break down and call Scott, his Dad, or someone else.
“Hello Stiles, to what do I owe the pleasure?” Peter’s voice filled Stiles’ ear.
Stiles almost cried out in relief when he heard Peter’s voice. “Peter! Oh god, can you come over? Please, Come over. Claudia won’t stop crying.. And I can’t take it anymore.. “ Stiles begged, trying to keep himself from starting to cry. He wanted to though.
“Stiles. Breath. I’ll head over there right now. Just breath. “ Peter said, his voice calm and reassuring. It barely did anything to make him feel better, but knowing that Peter was on his way over helped a little. “See you in a few minutes. “
Stiles hung up, shoving the phone back into his pocket. Claudia was still screaming her lungs out, flailing her arms and legs. Stiles walked over and leaned over the crib, softly rubbing at Claudia’s chest in a calming manner. “ Shhh.. Claudia...sweetie. Please.. Shh.. “ Stiles whispered to her, hiccuping as his own tears started to fall.
Stiles stood there, crying softly, as he pleaded Claudia to stop crying until he heard the nursery door open. Peter must have left himself in, he thought, as he turned around. When he saw Peter standing there, he finally broke down completely, knowing that his daughter would be safe. He backed away from the crib until his back hit the wall, then he slid down it until he was sitting. He buried his face in his hands and sobbed. “Sh..she..won’t ...I can’t….can’t do this... “

~Peter’s POV~
Peter felt for Stiles’, the situation he had found himself in would cause even the strongest of people to fall apart. Peter was honestly surprised that he had lasted this long. He walked over to the crib, carefully picking her up. Claudia was most certainly Stiles’ child, he thought to himself, as her screams reached his ears. He held her against his chest, rubbing gently at her back. “Shh, Little One...Shh.. “ Peter cooed to her, starting to hum softly, the tune of the song, ‘Sound of Silence’ Claudia didn’t stop crying but she started to calm a little, her cries quieting a little.
Since it seemed to be working, Peter started to sing quietly. “Hello darkness, my old friend….
…..I've come to talk with you again….Because a vision softly creeping….Left its seeds while I was sleeping…...And the vision that was planted in my brain….Still remains within the sound of silence.”
As he sang the last verse, Claudia had stopped crying, her little eyes shut and her tiny body still, expecting for her breathing. He didn’t dare put her down yet, afraid she’d wake and start crying once again. Instead, he turned his attention to Stiles, who had cried himself right to sleep. That didn’t surprise him at all. He noticed the rocking chair and settled himself in it, letting Claudia and Stiles’ sleep, soon falling asleep himself.

~Stiles’ POV~
Stiles woke a few hours later, just as the sun was beginning to rise. He pushed himself to his feet, stretching, his body sore from sleeping on the floor. He rubbed his eyes, finally noticing Peter sleeping in the rocking chair with Claudia. Stiles smiled softly at the sight. It seemed to call Peter worked out well in the end.
Instead of waking either of them, he headed to the kitchen. He started a bottle for Claudia, knowing she’d be wanting one when she woke. Then he put on a pot of coffee for himself, and probably Peter. He honestly had no idea if Peter drank coffee, but at least he could offer.
